Commissioned by Christ, Allen Community Church works with the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all people. We will facilitate the growth of believers into disciples by teaching the Word of God; offer ministries that are touching people with the love of God and a love for each other; and transforming disciples into the image of Christ to the glory of God!
What we Believe (Our Theological Statement of Faith) 1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as being inspired by God and without error in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16)
2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7)
3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true Man. (Luke 1:35)
4. We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26; 3:6; Romans 3:23)
5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (Ephesians 1:7)
6. We believe in the Resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and His present life for us as high priest and advocate. (Hebrews 13:20)
7. We believe in "that blessed hope," the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the saints, and the glorious return of Christ to the earth with His saints. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
8. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God, a relationship in which we have eternal life. (John 1:12; John 10:28). We also believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active and available for our church today. (Romans 12: 6-8, I Corinthians 12: 1-31 , I Corinthians 13: 1- 13)
9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (I Corinthians 15:52, 53; John 3:36)
10. We believe the Lord has given two ordinances to the church: Baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper. These are administered faithfully according to the Word of God. All believers are welcome to share in these ordinances. (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
11. We believe that Satan is a real being, a personal devil, the head of a kingdom of great power, called in Scriptures the "kingdom of darkness." (1 Peter 5:8)
12. We believe we must not forsake the assembling of ourselves together in church attendance, fellowship, and submission one to another according to Hebrews 10:25.
13. We believe that God has set in the Church the five-fold ministry Gifts of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ. The administration God hath set forth in the church being first Apostles, secondarily Prophets, thirdly Teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, and diversities of tongues according to 1 Cor. 12:28 and Eph. 4:11.
14. We believe we have been given a universal Commission to "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever He has commanded" according to Matt. 28:19-20. |
